The blog’s main theme is transnational perceptions of World War II, examined through personal accounts and literature. It gathers together breaking research by an international group whose aim is to collect and study both contemporary testimonies and later literary treatments. As a means of studying this phenomenon the group has decided to focus on work produced in the language of Esperanto, a body of work hitherto unknown to researchers on this topic. This choice is based on a desire to investigate the distinctness of perspectives beyond national institutions and imperial visions. The corpus comprises a large variety of texts, some of great literary merit, others simple testimonies, both published and unpublished, written by authors that come from all five continents.
